Our training philosophy remains the same in obedience or rally. We use positive reinforcement to learn the ins and outs of rally obedience. Rally is a beginning to regular obedience where you can still talk to the dog and you are allowed hand signals, voice and body motions in almost all the levels. This is considered a fun entry level to regular obedience in the Rally Novice classes. The advanced classes build on the skills you learn in the beginning and some upper level classes can be quite challenging.
Although the AKC and UKC programs are different, learning how to work as a team with your partner is similar to a dance as both you and the dog have to be in sync. One of the most important things to do is learn to read the signs. Texas K9 teaches you the proper footwork, how to approach, negotiate and leave the sign area to get the best score for you and your K9 partner.
